head of engineering for enterprise retail commerce

CommerceClarity is building a platform that changes how enterprise retailers run their commerce operations.

• Own the core platform architecture and technology choices while continuing to build the product
• Set engineering standards for code quality, reviews, testing, and completion criteria
• Manage and grow the engineering team
• Define the technical roadmap with the CPTO and engineering commitments
• Own data architecture for high-volume catalog work across millions of SKUs, languages, and channels
• Set the infrastructure and operational bar across infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, security, high availability, and incident response
• Define what the platform can do with AI

• Direct experience managing engineers
• Around ten years of experience building platforms or SaaS, with architecture ownership
• Experience building inside an early-stage startup
• Fluent use of LLMs to orchestrate several coding agents
• Experience shipping AI agents, including prompting, tool use, orchestration, and evals
• Deep data architecture knowledge under real traffic
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete information and iterate quickly
• Clear communication with technical and business stakeholders, and ability to hold your position when it matters
• Based in the EU and able to travel to Milan and Barcelona once a month
• Fluent English
