full stack developer for banking applications

Handelsbanken is a banking institution developing local applications and integrations across the Netherlands. Its Amsterdam IT department supports the bank’s continued development through full-stack solutions.

• Collect requirements and translate business demands into suitable IT solutions;
• Write clean, reliable, and secure code;
• Ensure code quality through automated tests and code reviews;
• Develop new features and maintain existing solutions, including technical upgrades;
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration;
• Participate in daily scrums, refinement, review, and planning sessions;
• Continuously develop professional skills.

• Reside in the Netherlands and be eligible to work there;
• Hold a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT;
• Have 5+ years of professional experience in software development within a DevOps team;
• Have a strong hands-on mentality;
• Have good learning skills and openness to learning different technologies and business domains;
• Have demonstrable back-end experience with Java 17+, preferably JakartaEE;
• Have demonstrable front-end experience with React;
• Have knowledge and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL;
• Have experience with enterprise-level IT infrastructure;
• Have excellent spoken and written English;
• Be willing to travel abroad occasionally;
• Nice to have: Experience with the banking sector, Dutch.
