Data is a central resource for GEMA and its business processes. Our mission is to enable the development of high-quality data products and insights for the music industry and to make data use efficient and secure. A decentralized data platform, an active data community and a modern, self-service-focused data governance model are opening up new business areas. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will develop and operate GEMA's modern self-service data platform with us. You will bring together cloud engineering, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and software development.

• You develop and operate features, services and internal tools that make working with our Data Platform intuitive, secure and efficient for different users.
• You develop infrastructure as code and automations for deploying, provisioning and managing our Data Platform infrastructure.
• You build platform-related services, APIs and self-service features that support Data Engineers and product teams in developing and operating data products.
• You bring software engineering practices such as clean interfaces, automated tests, code reviews and maintainable architecture into platform development.
• You improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, performance, cost control, security and operational stability across our platform.
• You work with cloud-native technologies, containers and modern architectural patterns and continuously develop the platform together with the team.
• You document architecture, processes, best practices and blueprints and support Data Engineers, product teams and business units in using the platform.

• You have practical professional experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, data engineering or the development of cloud-based applications.
• You have experience with cloud technologies, ideally GCP, or comparable experience with Azure or AWS.
• You are proficient with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform, and know best practices for automated, traceable deployments.
• You have practical software development experience, for example with Python, Java, Go or comparable languages, and can develop maintainable, tested components.
• You have a good understanding of APIs, CI/CD, software architecture and operating cloud-native applications.
• You know data engineering and platform technologies such as Databricks, Spark, cloud data warehouses or comparable solutions and can quickly learn new technologies.
• You work analytically, with a focus on quality and strong communication skills, and enjoy developing robust technical solutions together as a team.
