Data engineer in regulatory reporting

Our client, one of the largest banks in the Netherlands, is looking for an Medior Data Engineer to take ownership of the data platform that feeds its regulatory and compliance reports. You make sure those reports are always supplied with accurate, complete and timely data. Next to running and improving the current reporting pipelines, you help migrate the reporting workloads to a new, unified AWS-based data lake – bridging today's legacy reporting processes and the future-state platform.

• Operate, monitor and maintain compliance reporting pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues, pipeline failures and production incidents.
• Make the pipelines more robust, scalable and maintainable, with proper monitoring and automation.
• Be the key technical contact for report owners and translate changing reporting requirements into solutions.
• Analyse the existing reporting architecture and help plan, build and test the migration to the new data lake.
• Work with architects, data engineers and business stakeholders on sustainable data products and good data governance.

• 4 - 5 years proven experience as a Data Engineer in a complex reporting or regulatory reporting environment.
• Strong hands-on AWS data engineering (e.g. S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions) with Python/PySpark and SQL.
• Extensive experience designing, maintaining and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines on production-critical platforms.
• A solid grip on data quality controls, reconciliation and monitoring.
• Banking or financial services experience – ideally payments, transactions, card processing, ledgers / accounting flows or core banking.
• An ownership mindset and clear communication with business and reporting stakeholders.
