Data engineer

Build the new cloud data platform at RAI Amsterdam as a Data Engineer. You will work with Microsoft Fabric and Azure, develop data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and scalable data models, and help shape our data architecture from the ground up.

• Design, build and further develop the data platform within Microsoft Fabric.
• Explore and unlock data from a wide range of source systems.
• Develop reliable and scalable data pipelines and notebooks for collecting, transforming and loading data.
• Set up ETL and ELT processes within a modern cloud data environment.
• Design and implement data models that meet the organization's information needs.
• Investigate existing systems and data sources and determine how they can be optimally integrated.
• Contribute ideas on data architecture, technical standards and the further configuration of the platform.
• Monitor and improve data quality, performance, security and manageability.
• Make reliable data available for analyses, reports and Power BI.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner, analysts, IT colleagues and business stakeholders.
• Explore new possibilities within Microsoft Fabric and apply technologies that add value.
• Actively contribute to the growth and professionalization of RAI Amsterdam's data and analytics landscape.

• You are curious about how systems work and get energy from an environment that has not yet been fully thought out.
• You can independently design and build technical solutions, but also actively seek collaboration with colleagues from IT and the business.
• A completed higher professional or university degree, preferably in IT, Computer Science, Data Science or a comparable field.
• Several years of relevant work experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Platform Engineer or in a comparable role.
• Experience with SQL, data modeling and developing data pipelines.
• Experience with ETL and/or ELT processes for collecting, transforming and making data available.
• Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms, preferably within Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience designing reliable and scalable data solutions.
• Affinity with data warehousing, lakehouse concepts, data architecture and analytics.
• The ability to explain technical issues clearly to colleagues from different backgrounds.
• An analytical and inquisitive approach to work.
• Ownership, initiative and a willingness to contribute ideas on choices that have not yet been finalized.
• You are fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

• A salary between €4,575 and €6,923 per month based on 40 hours, depending on your level and experience.
• A position of 40 hours per week.
