Data engineer

Our customer is an established Berlin-based IT consultancy and software studio with a track record of more than 20 years. As a specialist partner for digital transformation, the company serves renowned clients in high-security sectors (banking) and the media industry. With a team of around 50 experts, the company combines the stability of established structures with the agility of modern tech stacks. Hands-on development is the norm, with a clear focus on quality, long-term thinking, and technological excellence.

• You will gradually take on technical leadership of our six-person Data team, be introduced to project management, and develop specifically towards your first (disciplinary) leadership role.
• You will design and build secure, scalable cloud and on-premise data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will actively drive topics such as data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, and data governance.
• You will work hand in hand with Sales (technical feasibility, pre-sales support) and act as a competent sparring partner for our customers.
• You will guide data projects through their entire lifecycle. From the initial advisory meeting and requirements engineering through to final implementation.
• You will be responsible for infrastructure automation (IaC via Terraform) and building stable CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

• You have around 4 years of solid professional experience in data engineering and are ready for the next step in your career.
• The decisive factor is your strong motivation to actively grow into a lead role now.
• You preferably come from IT consulting, value direct customer contact, and can explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• We expect you to have a confident command of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Terraform, and CI/CD automation.
• You are empathetic, solution-oriented, and communicate as an equal. You are a great personal fit for our team and effortlessly bridge the gap between business and IT.
• Very good German language skills (at least C1 level) for advising our customers on complex matters.

• Starting salary of up to €80,000 (including bonus system), depending on prior experience.
