c++ developer for refractive surgery systems

The team develops a Class IIb refractive surgery system running on Windows.

• Design and implement C++/Qt desktop GUI applications for the Frontend (RTD) board, including workflow screens, patient selection, treatment UI, and clinical data display
• Build and maintain Windows embedded/kiosk applications in a regulated medical device context
• Contribute to cross-subsystem features involving Frontend, Backend, and Video Unit boards across multiple repositories
• Use GitHub Copilot agent mode to implement agreed designs using TDD, traceable to ADO Specification Items
• Prepare solution designs in the client's SDD template, present them to the module owner, and implement them only after approval
• Use AI agents to analyze existing modules, including their structure, data flows, and cross-repository dependencies, before every change
• Operate CI quality gates, including clang-tidy, clang-format, warnings-as-errors, Doxygen, license-header checks, coverage, and complexity thresholds
• Ensure UI code meets IEC 62304 traceability requirements so every screen, control, and interaction maps to a requirement
• Prepare integration sets for monthly device-in-the-loop demos on physical RTD hardware
• Explain every line of the diff during PR walkthroughs

• 5+ Years of professional experience in C++ (C++17 minimum)
• Significant experience with Qt, including native desktop, Qt Widgets and/or Qt Quick/QML, signal/slot, and model/view
• Experience developing Windows embedded or kiosk applications
• Experience delivering IEC 62304 Class B/C medical devices
• Understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 11
• Active, proficient use of agentic AI tooling, with a concrete case and measurable cycle-time data
• Skills in TDD in C++/Qt (Qt Test, Google Test, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with static analysis and formatting compliance tools such as clang-tidy, clang-format, and warnings-as-errors as CI gates
