Backend engineer in sports trading

Based in Lisbon, this is a rare chance to join a small, profitable team building real-time odds infrastructure used by the people who trade sport. Their platform pulls live odds from more than 300 bookmakers and serves around 400 B2B clients, from prediction markets like Polymarket to hedge funds, market makers and major European bookmakers. Profitable, 21 people, mostly engineers, and growing every month. They're looking for a TypeScript backend engineer to own high-throughput services on their trading and risk platform, where milliseconds matter because clients trade on the data.

• Design, build and maintain scalable Node.js services and REST/WebSocket APIs
• Build pipelines that ingest, process and serve odds data in real time
• Improve performance, observability and resilience across the platform
• Take part in architecture decisions and design reviews
• Write clean code and review your teammates' code

• 2+ years of backend development in production
• Strong TypeScript (Node.js)
• Solid experience designing REST and WebSocket APIs
• Autonomy: you take ownership and move without hand-holding

• €70k to €80k base salary
