backend developer for customs and logistics systems

DSV is a global transport and logistics company operating in over 90 countries. Its Customs Technology Team develops scalable applications and integrations that automate customs processes and connect enterprise systems, customers, logistics platforms, and customs services.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications supporting customs and logistics processes;
• Build scalable and reliable integrations between internal and external systems;
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and event-driven solutions;
• Work with relational databases to ensure high performance and data quality;
• Participate in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions;
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, and other development teams;
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives;
• Support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and operational excellence.

• Experience in backend development using Kotlin;
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL;
• Experience with system integrations and API-based communication;
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and modern software architecture principles;
• Understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns;
• Experience with Git and software development best practices;
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to ownership;
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders;
• English proficiency for daily cooperation with international stakeholders;
• Nice to have: Experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms, knowledge of microservices architecture, experience with Docker and Kubernetes, familiarity with customs, logistics, supply chain, or transportation domains.
