Flip is an AI-powered employee experience platform for frontline workers in retail, manufacturing, and logistics. It connects employees to the tools and information they need through a single app.

• Own and define the AI architecture and standards across Flip Fusion, the Ask AI agent gateway, and Flip Flows;
• Architect multi-agent systems for diverse customer needs while balancing feasibility, reliability, and cost effectiveness;
• Lead and grow a team of three AI engineers;
• Spend approximately 70% of the time coding on the most complex problems;
• Influence architecture decisions with product managers and engineering leads through persuasion and technical credibility;
• Work with Python, pydantic-ai, qdrant, Azure AI, Kubernetes, Kotlin, Micronaut, and Go;
• Shape the AI engineering discipline and establish its practices.

• 7+ Years of software engineering experience with a senior- or staff-level track record in backend, platform, or full-stack engineering;
• Hands-on production experience designing, shipping, and operating LLM-powered systems, including RAG, tool calling, MCP, orchestration, and evals;
• Experience with multi-agent orchestration;
• Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture ownership, tech lead responsibility, RFCs, design reviews, or team standards;
• Ability to influence technical work without direct ownership through persuasion and credibility;
• Experience coaching or mentoring engineers;
• Explicit commitment to people leadership and managing three engineers;
• Strong communication skills;
• Business-fluent English (C1);
• Nice to have: Formal people-management experience, experience leading a discipline or craft across teams in a matrix organisation, product context at scale such as frontline or deskless workforces or high-volume B2B SaaS, cost/latency/reliability engineering for LLM systems, German at any level.
