UX designer for learning and coaching products

A5 Labs is a Bay Area technology company building advanced gaming, AI, and security solutions for some of the world's largest online gaming platforms. We combine artificial intelligence, game theory, data science, and gaming expertise to create smarter, fairer, and more engaging digital experiences. We are looking for a Senior UX / Product Designer to help us build an innovative poker learning and coaching platform that empowers players to understand their decisions, identify mistakes, practice effectively, and continuously improve their skills.

• Own the end-to-end UX and Product Design process, from user research and problem discovery to interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and delivery.
• Design intuitive, engaging experiences for poker learning, hand analysis, personalized coaching, practice, and skill development.
• Translate complex information, analytical insights, and strategic concepts into clear, actionable user experiences.
• Create effective learning journeys that help users identify knowledge gaps, practice specific skills, receive meaningful feedback, and track their progress.
• Design and optimize data-rich interfaces, interactive dashboards, visualizations, and complex user workflows.
• Explore gamification, adaptive learning, and AI-powered coaching to improve engagement and learning effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, AI Researchers, and poker experts to develop and refine product features.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements based on user feedback and product data.
• Develop high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and scalable design systems using Figma.
• Balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints to deliver high-quality product experiences.

• Strong senior-level UX / Product Design experience, with a proven track record of designing and shipping complex digital products.
• Excellent hands-on capabilities in interaction design, information architecture, user flows, prototyping, and usability testing.
• Strong proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, interactive prototypes, and design systems.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts, workflows, and data into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
• Strong product thinking and the ability to independently identify problems, propose solutions, and drive design decisions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile product development environment.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design ownership, decision-making, and measurable product impact.
• Strong understanding of poker strategy, including GTO, EV, ranges, hand analysis, and poker solvers.
• Personal experience studying or playing poker at an advanced level.
• Experience designing poker-related software, analytical tools, or gaming products.
• Direct experience designing education, learning, coaching, training, or skill-development products.
• Strong understanding of instructional design, learning journeys, personalized learning, and user progression.
• Experience creating practice and feedback loops, skill assessments, interactive exercises, or learning analytics.
• Ability to design experiences that help users develop expertise and measure their improvement over time.
• Experience translating complex subject matter into accessible and engaging learning experiences.
