project manager for internal IT infrastructure

Nethermind builds and secures core Ethereum infrastructure, develops the Nethermind execution client, and contributes to network upgrades and protocol-level work across rollups, zero-knowledge systems, and cross-chain architecture. Its security team audits smart contracts, ZK circuits, and off-chain components, with formal verification capabilities for critical systems. The company also develops hardware for digital identity based on verifiable biometrics and cryptographic privacy.

• Lead and supervise the Internal IT Department across Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Security, IAM, and FinOps
• Drive company-wide and team-level infrastructure initiatives, and co-define strategy and roadmaps with the CIO and team
• Manage department staffing, career guidance, performance reviews, and technical standards
• Communicate with C-level executives and group leads to strengthen cross-functional relationships and eliminate DevOps silos
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal IT and coordinate with the CIO on initiatives and resource allocation
• Adapt AI technology for daily engineering and non-engineering workflows
• Communicate with external clients when required, representing the department’s capabilities and aligning on infrastructure needs
• Identify and implement improvements and optimisations to organisational workflows
• Support hiring by sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating candidates
• Conduct monthly performance reviews using Rippling and provide structured feedback

• 5+ Years of experience in a management role leading and scaling IT, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and DevOps/SRE practices
• Strategic thinking and ability to co-define and execute technical roadmaps
• Hands-on understanding of infrastructure security, IAM, and FinOps
• Experience translating compliance and audit requirements, such as SOC2, ISO 27001, or sector-specific frameworks, into operational controls
• Ability to own or govern internal AI tooling and agentic workflows with a security-first mindset
• People management skills, including hiring, mentoring, career development, and performance management
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to C-level stakeholders and non-technical audiences
• Practical experience with security incident response and threat modelling, ideally including supply-chain and adversarial/state-actor scenarios
• Comfortable working in a fully remote, async-first, globally distributed environment
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders
