Finance manager in a global research centre

International Growth Centre works with policymakers in developing countries to promote inclusive and sustainable growth through pathbreaking research. The IGC is a global research centre with a network of world-leading researchers and in-country teams and initiatives working across Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. Based at LSE and in partnership with the University of Oxford, we are majority funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office with support from other global funders. We work to improve the productivity of people and firms as the key driver of sustainable economic development.

• The role will lead on management reporting, financial monitoring and the delivery of high-quality finance services across the IGC.
• Working closely with colleagues across the IGC, country teams and central LSE services, the postholder will support the delivery of effective financial controls, provide high-quality management information, and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
• The role will also provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to a team of Finance and Operations Officers.

• Strong experience of management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, ideally in a complex or donor-funded environment
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong Excel skills and experience in using financial systems
• The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships across diverse teams and cultures

• The position will be based in the IGC head office located within the LSE in central London, with flexibility for hybrid work.
