As a Research Scientist in Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity, you will shape the future security architecture and design of ABB's software-based products, with a focus on protecting industrial systems in an increasingly connected world. We are looking for a team member with a proven research track record and a drive to translate cutting-edge academic work into real-world industrial environment. You will join a highly motivated, international team of scientists at ABB Research, tackling complex challenges facing digital capabilities within critical infrastructure today. Build a network in the company and actively disseminate your knowledge and expertise

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience in software engineering and system design
• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: OT security, computer security, distributed systems, embedded systems, secure communications, or applied cryptography
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Rust
• Proven publication track record at top-tier scientific venues
• Proven ability to drive ideas from concept to working prototype
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset across multidisciplinary teams

The Industrial Software Systems research team explores topics like machine learning, cybersecurity, computer networking, distributed systems, and real-time systems. Our solutions are used to support the development of next-generation digital products and services of ABB.
