devops engineer for high-availability infrastructure

United.Cloud develops in-house products used daily by millions of people, including a globally distributed content delivery network serving video traffic, in-house anycast DNS servers, and highly available infrastructure. The company builds and optimizes high-performance solutions using open-source tools.

• Fully automate DevOps processes, including server and VM cluster provisioning, Kubernetes, security updates, intrusion detection, log collection and analysis, backups, service mesh, Kafka clusters, ML platforms, and Big Data platforms
• Develop internal services for system analytics and monitoring
• Create self-service CI/CD infrastructure for development teams
• Advise development teams on application design best practices to support manageable, highly available production environments
• Design and implement highly available, scalable infrastructure for the products
• Mentor less experienced colleagues
• Document designs and solutions
• Implement security best practices across large-scale, custom-built hybrid infrastructure
• Propose, plan, and implement improvements

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in DevOps/Infrastructure, Systems Administration, SRE, and/or Development
• Experience with infrastructure operations and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Proficient knowledge of and passion for Linux, including Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS
• Experience with Kubernetes and container runtimes
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Alertmanager
• Familiarity with SRE concepts, observability, availability, and SLOs/SLIs/SLAs
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Gitea, and process automation platforms such as Rundeck
• Experience with virtualization environments such as Proxmox or VCD
• Experience managing and optimizing NGINX web servers and HAProxy load balancers for high loads and availability
• Knowledge of modern scripting languages such as Python or Go
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, DNS, firewalls, and SSO
• High proficiency in written and spoken English
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
