cloud engineer for Azure backup solutions

• Operate, develop, and optimize backup and recovery solutions across hybrid, cloud, and Azure Local environments
• Plan, implement, and operate data backup and recovery solutions using Azure Backup, Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS), and enterprise backup products
• Ensure the backup and recovery of workloads in Azure and Azure Local, including virtual machines, Storage Accounts, databases (MS-SQL and Oracle), and Azure Kubernetes Service
• Secure company data in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Azure DevOps
• Monitor backup processes, analyze failures, and coordinate incident resolution
• Conduct regular backup and restore tests and document results in an audit-proof manner
• Manage monitoring, reporting, and capacity and growth planning for the backup infrastructure
• Continuously develop backup, restore, and disaster recovery concepts and support compliance and audit requirements
• Contribute to the development of the hybrid cloud and Azure Local platform

• Degree in computer science, information technology, or a comparable qualification; this is mandatory
• Professional experience operating and administering backup and recovery solutions
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS)
• Experience with Azure Backup for virtual machines, Storage Accounts, and AKS environments
• Experience operating and securing workloads on Azure, Azure Local, and hybrid infrastructure in a KRITIS environment
• Experience with at least one enterprise backup solution, such as Veeam, HYCU, Rubrik, Commvault, or a comparable product
• Knowledge of securing company data in cloud services, particularly Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Azure DevOps
• Experience monitoring backup environments and planning capacity, storage, and resources
• Knowledge of analyzing and resolving backup, restore, and recovery issues
• Structured and self-directed working style
• German at C1 level or higher as the primary working language; this is mandatory
• Good English skills
