software engineer (Ruby on Rails and React) for fund finance

iCapital provides platforms and systems that support fund finance workflows for institutions in the alternative investments industry.

• Develop backend features using Ruby (3.3.x) and Rails (8.x)
• Develop frontend applications using React and Redux
• Build unit and integration tests using RSpec, Cucumber, and Capybara
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts (POCs)
• Participate in recurring team meetings and ceremonies
• Participate in peer code reviews as part of SDLC and change management processes
• Partner with Product Management throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery
• Contribute to architecture decisions and shipped features that improve efficiency, automation, and accuracy across fund finance workflows

• Degree in Software Engineering or a related field
• 6+ Years of full-stack web application development
• 6+ Years of development experience with React and Ruby on Rails
• 6+ Years of HTML and CSS development
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, normalization, and object-relational mapping (ORM)
• Passion for learning and adopting new technologies
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Excellent communication skills
• Collaborative approach to software development
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Portuguese fluency is required for positions based in Portugal
