• Build and evolve the developer platform used by Flexport engineers
• Create paved paths and self-service tooling that make the right thing easy
• Create and support developer tooling, including CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and artifact repositories
• Own and improve the backend and frontend developer experience
• Steward the GraphQL and gRPC ecosystems, including middleware, federation, schema sharing, CLIs, code generation, and servers and clients
• Evolve and integrate IAM solutions and primitives to make systems easy and secure by default
• Help engineers use and understand container orchestration and observability tools for running, understanding, and debugging services
• Identify developer friction and design and ship tools to remove it
• Research developer needs, roll out solutions to production, and measure their impact

• 5+ Years of software engineering experience, including building developer platforms or internal tools used by other engineers
• Strong full-stack skills across backend services, frontend build pipelines, Kubernetes manifests, and CI configurations
• Apply product thinking to internal users, identify valuable solutions, and measure their impact
• Hands-on expertise with several of the following: CI/CD systems, container orchestration, build tooling for multiple languages, backend-for-frontend, service-to-service communication, metrics, and artifact storage
• Take initiative in solving technical debt and fixing broken systems; execute or make migrations effortless
• Work independently in ambiguous situations, identify high-impact problems, and act without waiting for direction
• Communicate effectively, conduct developer interviews, write clear design documents, and ensure shared understanding
• Help unblock colleagues and make their work easier
