backend product engineer go/jvm for meal kit systems

• Maintain accountability for the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operation of microservices under a full DevOps model
• Lead backend-heavy product problems by designing, building, and operating reliable services and systems at scale
• Build event-driven systems using messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS, and expose data through REST and gRPC interfaces
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD deployment pipelines
• Maintain robust testing, from unit tests through end-to-end coverage
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams, including product leads, frontend engineers, designers, and data teams
• Provide technical guidance to team members and participate in code and architecture reviews
• Use modern AI tools and workflows, such as Claude and Cursor, to improve engineering productivity
• Work beyond the area of specialization when required
• Instrument, monitor, and improve systems in production

• Hands-on experience with AI tooling beyond casual experimentation; use AI agents daily and understand how context affects output quality and how to set boundaries on AI-generated work
• Strong fluency in Go or a JVM language (Java/Kotlin)
• Hands-on experience building production distributed systems, including event-driven and asynchronous flows, clear service contracts, and design for partial failure
• High proficiency in one stack and willingness to expand technical knowledge into Go
• Experience building, deploying, and operating critical backend services in production
• Technical familiarity with distributed systems, messaging queues, containerization, and modern deployment infrastructure
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including practical use of TDD, BDD, or DDD and sound technical trade-offs
• Excellent communication skills for an international, multidisciplinary technical environment
• Take ownership, ship work, and complete the final stages of delivery
• Product sense, with opinions on what should be built and why, supported by data and user evidence
