backend engineer – insurance

SAP Fioneer develops software solutions and platforms for the financial services industry, helping companies improve speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency through digital business innovation, cloud technology, and solutions for banking and insurance processes.

• Own services end to end, from API design to delivery pipelines and the infrastructure they run on
• Shape the platform
• Build production-grade services and RESTful APIs
• Run services in the cloud and on Kubernetes
• Own changes through the CI/CD pipeline to production, including build, release, and rollback

• 4+ Years of professional experience as a software engineer
• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent education
• Very good knowledge of Spring Boot and Kotlin
• Experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, query optimization, and performance
• Hands-on experience running cloud services, ideally on Azure, using Kubernetes (AKS) with Helm
• Practical experience with Terraform and configuration management
• Use and understand AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code while maintaining code quality
• Comfortable with observability and operations, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting
• Treat testing as a regular part of the work, including unit, integration, and e2e testing
• Actively use linters and formatters and write clean, readable code
• Strong CI/CD skills
• Solution-oriented, with a structured working style
• Fluent in English
• Будет плюсом: TypeScript and React experience, including Redux, micro frontends, and module federation; knowledge of UI5 Web Components and experience with component-based design systems such as SAP Fiori; experience with Istio or Kubernetes-based platforms such as Kyma; exposure to platform security, secrets management, and cost optimization; hands-on experience integrating LLMs/GenAI into applications, such as Spring AI, Azure OpenAI, agentic flows, or MCP servers; strong interest in modern technologies and tools and enjoyment of advancing platforms
