This is an opportunity for a technically minded individual to join us as a Software Engineer

You’ll be designing, producing, testing and implementing working software, working across the lifecycle of the system

• Design, produce, test, and implement software across the system lifecycle
• Lead the technical delivery of a software engineering team
• Develop knowledge of the platform across business, applications, data, and infrastructure
• Liaise with principal engineers, domain architects, and stakeholders to understand the platform and how it supports business objectives
• Supervise solution design options and explain their pros and cons to stakeholders
• Lead estimation activities and ensure delivery plans reflect technical complexity, maintainability, and supportability
• Apply Agile methods to software development from the backlog
• Produce resilient, long-lived software and adapt it to future needs
• Deliver intentional architecture and develop emergent designs through ideas, experimentation, and prototyping
• Design and develop software focused on automating build, test, and deployment activities using executable patterns
• Lead the implementation of programming best practices for scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability, and performance

• Experience working in banking or financial services
• Strong hands-on experience developing and delivering solutions using modern Java technologies
• Experience designing and developing microservices and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles
• Expertise working with relational databases
• Experience building cloud-based solutions in AWS
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Collaboration skills and ability to work with business teams to deliver pragmatic solutions
• Experience with information security policies and practices in the financial sector
• Exposure to AI technologies such as LLMs, machine learning, or agentic systems
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including explaining complex technical concepts simply
