• Set the team’s technical strategy on a year-long time scale and connect it to critical, business-impacting projects
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs
• Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes that multiply the team’s impact
• Own team operations and availability by establishing monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting to support on-call efforts
• Set code review and design standards, and advocate for them across teams through writing and tech talks
• Develop team members through feedback, guidance, and leading by example
• Participate in the required on-call rotation

• 8+ Years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin
• Extensive experience developing highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through technical and execution planning
• Ability to write high-quality code that is easy for others to understand and use
• Comfortable working from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture in ambiguous environments
• Demonstrated ability to gather and iterate on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team

• Base pay range: €103,000 - €139,000 per year
• Visa sponsorship is available; candidates must be based in Spain
