Product designer for marketplace growth

As a Senior Product Designer in our Growth domain, you will shape experiences that drive user growth, engagement, and retention across Kleinanzeigen, helping millions of users stay connected, discover relevant opportunities, and actively participate in our marketplace.

• Shape the future of Kleinanzeigen, designing intuitive experiences that connect users with relevant activities across buying, selling, and searching, driving engagement and retention.
• Lead user discovery and experimentation, combining qualitative research, behavioural data, and AI-assisted analysis to identify user needs, uncover opportunities, and validate design hypotheses.
• Leverage AI-powered design tools and workflows to accelerate ideation, explore concepts, build interactive prototypes, and rapidly test and iterate on solutions, from early exploration to production-ready designs, including implementing smaller improvements directly in code.
• Design intelligent, personalised, and trustworthy user experiences, including AI-driven interactions and notification journeys, while ensuring transparency, user control, accessibility, and consistency.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Data specialists to turn insights into measurable improvements, using experimentation, usability testing, and growth metrics to continuously optimise the user experience.
• Contribute to scalable design systems and a collaborative design culture, sharing knowledge, exploring emerging AI design practices, and helping evolve how we design and build products at Kleinanzeigen.

• Several years of experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer, or Interaction Designer, ideally working on consumer-facing digital products in an agile environment.
• Strong conceptual and interaction design skills, with the ability to turn complex systems, including AI-powered features, into simple, intuitive, and trustworthy user experiences.
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered design tools to accelerate ideation, explore concepts, create interactive prototypes, and iterate quickly.
• Curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI technologies are essential.
• A strong eye for visual design and experience working with design systems, combined with the ability to translate ideas into functional prototypes or make smaller improvements directly in code using AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-informed experimentation, using qualitative and quantitative insights to validate solutions and drive measurable improvements in engagement and retention.
• A collaborative, hands-on mindset, comfortable sharing work early, embracing feedback, and working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints while adapting to evolving technologies, changing priorities, and new ways of working.
• Fluency in German and English, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration and direct communication with users during research and testing.
