Ruby Labs creates and operates innovative consumer products across the health, education, and entertainment industries.

• Own the UI/UX quality of the entire product, define its standard, and hold responsibility for every interface decision that ships;
• Supervise team members' UI/UX work by setting direction, reviewing output, advising on solutions, and driving tasks to completion;
• Own major visual features end to end, including briefing, design exploration, written rationale, implementation, and final polish;
• Own the design system and its documentation;
• Maintain visual and behavioural consistency across every screen, device, and locale;
• Document the reasoning behind key design decisions, including user needs, supporting patterns or research, and considered alternatives;
• Run a disciplined AI-first workflow from generation to production quality;
• Own the team's shared prompting assets, assess when output is ready to ship, and keep the team's tooling current.

• Experience as the final UI/UX quality owner for a product, with sign-off responsibility for shipped work;
• Hands-on production experience with AI design and code tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or close equivalents, including advanced prompting;
• Current knowledge of the AI-era UI/UX landscape;
• Shipped live consumer web products with strong attention to detail;
• React/Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript skills sufficient to implement and refine designs in production code;
• Experience building or maintaining a design system;
• Experience guiding other developers' UI/UX work and driving it to shipped quality;
• High standards for visual detail and the ability to catch issues early;
• Continuous learning and adoption of new tools and techniques;
• Ambition to build large-scale products used by millions;
• Ability to explain design decisions clearly and in writing, grounded in user needs, patterns, or data;
• Clear and proactive communication in a fully remote, async environment;
• Strong product design and UX instincts, with frontend skills used to bring designs to production rather than as the primary focus.
