Motorway is the UK's largest online car-selling platform, connecting private sellers directly with over 8,000 dealers nationwide. Its online platform helps sellers achieve great prices for their cars while giving dealers fast, reliable access to stock for their dealerships.

• Own complex, ambiguous product challenges and transform them into clear user experiences from discovery to deployment;
• Define how the design team integrates AI tools into its workflows while keeping human judgment and craft central;
• Collaborate with engineering using code, complex prototypes, or custom tools;
• Advocate for users through research, continuous usability testing, and data insights;
• Run workshops, improve team rituals, and foster a culture where diverse perspectives thrive;
• Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups for mobile and web applications, meeting accessibility standards and promoting inclusive design;
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and data analysts throughout the product development lifecycle;
• Connect user insights to product opportunities and business goals, and articulate the business case for design decisions;
• Build relationships across product, engineering, and the wider organisation;
• Communicate design decisions, lead online and offline validation sessions, and represent product design across the organisation;
• Mentor designers and support their growth by sharing best practices;
• Contribute to design rituals, run workshops, plan design-focused events, and encourage diverse participation;
• Promote continuous learning, develop core design principles, and keep the team informed about emerging tools, patterns, and practices.

• Have a proven track record as a Senior or Lead Product Designer shipping impactful digital products across web and mobile;
• Have experience shipping code, building personal products, or creating functional, high-fidelity tools and prototypes;
• Understand consumer journeys and ideally have experience with both B2C and B2B products;
• Take a considered approach to AI in design, including when to use AI and when to rely on human judgment;
• Connect design execution to business outcomes and shape broader product strategy;
• Be proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Claude, and Kiro;
• Apply user-centered design methodologies, accessibility standards, and research synthesis;
• Nice to have: Experience optimizing user journeys or conversion funnels through experimentation, or working in a fast-paced, two-sided marketplace.
