• Strong SQL skills, including window functions, cohorts, funnels, and retention analysis on raw event data
• Working-level Python for analysis, including pandas and notebooks; entry-level proficiency is acceptable
• Hands-on experience designing and running experiments and using results to discontinue features
• Understand statistical significance and the limits of p-values; avoid presenting flat tests as wins
• Understand subscription and one-time purchase mechanics, including recurring and one-off revenue, refunds, plan changes, and deferred value of unspent credits
• Check instrumentation before explaining metric changes
• Take ownership of analysis, pursue fixes, and follow recommendations through to shipped changes
• Clear written and spoken English at B2+ level
• Not a fit for candidates who wait for tickets to determine what to analyze, prioritize model-building over changing decisions, require a data engineering team and clean tables before starting, report unconvincing lifts at a stakeholder’s request, need perfect data before providing useful insights, or want predictable 9–5 workdays
